Confidentiality

Our ethical standards guarantee your confidentiality. In addition to our professional and personal ethics, you have rights under federal and state laws. HIPAA (Health Information Privacy and Accountability Act) and state laws protect your confidentiality and counseling experience, no matter who you are and who might want to know. There are a few situations that we are forced by law to break that confidentiality. Those reasons are if you are suicidal, are harming a child or developmentally disabled or elder person, are considering committing a crime (or have already done so) in which someone would or has been hurt.
